General information on Hollywood Florida

Hollywood is on the Atlantic Ocean side of Florida, just north or Miami-Dade County and South of Fort Lauderdale.

Developed as a planned city by Joseph Wesley Young, who began surveying the site in 1920. He ultimately lost his Hollywood holdings to a sheriff's auction a decade later.

A Seminole Indian reservation, a politically independent entity, is located inside the city boundaries.
