General information and History on Pembroke Park Florida

Not so long ago, the area known as Pembroke Park was made up of nurseries, quarries and mobile home parks. Pembroke Park was incorporated on December 10, 1957. The town took its name from its location along Pembroke Road.

the town has a total area of 1.78 square miles, 1.41 square miles of it is land and 0.37 square miles of it (20.22%) is water. What was once rock quarries are now beautiful lakes that enhance the aesthetic quality of Pembroke Park.

The town of Pembroke Park, located in Southern Broward County, is bordered by Miami-Dade County to the South, Hallandale Beach to the East, the City of Miramar to the West and Hollywood to the North.

Pembroke Park has 17 mobile home parks, four of which are devoted to recreational vehicle camping. The number of mobile homes is very nearly constant from year to year. New apartments, villas and town homes are located on the western edge of town. Four passive parks have been constructed in recent years on both ends of town to accommodate all residents of the surrounding areas.

The population of this area of the county is approximately 22,000 but increases to 30,000 residents during the winter season.
