Roof shingles have many types, sizes and colors to match with your home's theme or appearance. Our roofing contractors can give you a better understanding and show you some samples, but here is the basic information on roofing shingles:

In South Florida the most common shingles are the basic 3 tab shingles and the architectural shingles.

  • 3 tab asphalt shingles are more affordable, generally last 20 years and provide a uniform appearance to the property. You have seen them around, they are very common and provide somewhat of a flatter look. Most 3 tab shingles provide wind protection up to 100 mph.

  • Architectural shingles are not much more expensive, and last 30 years (lifetime to 20 year warranty on most products). These asphalt shingles provide a multi layer appearance on the property's roof, provide up to 150mph wind protection, generally have a Class A fire rating with Underwriters laboratories and contain UV blocker granules for better climate control.
